On December 3, 2011, Bearbrick World Wide Tour 2 took place in Tokyo, Japan. Medicom Toy’s launched the exhibition that featured 73 different Bearbricks. Each Bearbrick, customized by artists and companies including Stussy. Stussy’s Bearbrick design was inspired by geometric patterns from the 1980’s original Shawn Stussy surfboard. It features bright-spiked fish and bubbles on a surface of lemon yellow.

Stussy sends prayers and condolences to the people of Japan and the Japanese American community following the recent tragedy. The friendship and loyalty of the Japanese people have been a blessing to Stussy and to the streetwear community. We are deeply saddened along with the rest of the world by the latest events. We are confident that they will recover and get through this difficult time. We are in the process of formulating special projects and charitable events to support the disaster relief efforts.

Stussy recently hosted ‘Dilla Day’, in honour of music producer J Dilla, over stores across the US. During these events they showed a 3 part video documentary series created by Stussy chronicling the producer and rapper’s life and work.
